Obituary of Mary P. Corbett

Mary P. Corbett, a longtime Springfield resident, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the age of 84, after a short illness. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend who was loved by so many.

Mary was born in Summit to the late Patrick and Mary Kate Cunningham. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield, where she was raised with her brother Bernie.

Mary’s life revolved around her family. She loved her family deeply and would do anything for them. Mary also had a tremendous faith and had a very strong will.

She will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Patrick of Springfield; two daughters, Brigid Caricich and her husband, George & Mary Kate Corbett; two sons, Patrick Corbett and his wife, Susan & James Corbett and his wife, Erin Duffy; seven cherished grandchildren, Erin Caricich, Sean Caricich, Megan Corbett, Jack Corbett, Maggie Corbett, Dess Corbett & Aoife Corbett; and numerous other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Bernard T. Cunningham.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation from 1:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at St. James the Apostle RC Church, 45 S Springfield Ave, Springfield.

Cremation will be held privately.

Charitable contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
