PJ and I were together most of our twenties, almost 7 years. We faced everything together. Peach was a really beautiful human- incredibly giving and grateful, adventurous and driven. He would say he's "an old soul, but a kid at heart."
Some things I remember most about him (besides fishing): PJ loved bowling. He was on a couple local teams throughout the years, and he was incredible. I would cheer him on, and got to watch him finish 2 perfect games during that time (which is rare even for pros). He was also an amazing drummer. He loved to "jam" with his friends. PJ was musically-cultured, and he could dance! For a garden gnome, he had rhythm. His favorite bands were Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slipknot, and Tool. But he'd get down with Prince, Daft Punk, parody music, 80's pop, etc. PJ loved hockey. He played as goalie for years before, and right after we met. PJ was a talented cook. Grocery trips and cooking common date-nights for us. He loved the Gameshow Network, Jeopardy, Animal Planet (especially Big Cat Diaries), Anthony Bourdain; I could go on. His favorite movies were Tombstone and October Sky. After PJ suffered a great loss in his life, he listened to a classical song, "October Sky Soundtrack 23", on repeat. It's the ending song to the movie. I'm listening to it now as I type.
An important, maybe first, love in his life was his Nana. He carried her in his heart our entire relationship.
Coming from similar backgrounds, we found peace in each other. He was someone you meet, and never forget. Interactions with PJ were memorable. That's one thing I loved most about him. His energy was contagious. He'd hate if I said this, but he really did light up a room. No matter where we lived, or where he worked, he made friends quickly and loved hanging out in the neighborhood. He was ballsy, and spoke his mind with tough-love sarcasm. He was hard on himself, and hated authority. He was very much a "Robin Hood" type. I digged that.
Nature was PJ's passion. Every job he had, he made sure he'd be outside all day. He would jokingly brag about being dyslexic, but he could tell me the Latin names for nearly all the local foliage. PJ was a HARDworker. He'd put himself through hellish manual labor, and he loved it. The man was an ox, and took pride in how he could help others.
When PJ and I first started dating, his dad told me how often Peej would be in the back yard as a little kid, just digging himself into a big hole. Him and I both love nature so much, we lived directly in the middle of it for our last couple years together. He worked, and fished most of the time.
After PJ's sister passed away in 2020, he was a different man. Somehow he got louder and quieter at the same time. Tree was "his twin". Long before I was in his life, his sister was his best friend. They were each other's peace.
PJ and I broke up a year before he passed. I miss him, deeply. I still think about him almost daily. I can still imagine his laugh. I naturally use terms and sayings he used to. I have our beagle- Gracie Lou, and fat tabby- Mowin's. I can't love anyone the same way I loved him. If soulmates are a thing, that might've been it.
Sometimes, people lose focus of who loves them.
My greatest sympathies for Pj's eldest sibling, and his lifelong, childhood friends. Life has been different, knowing you're not here anymore. We could never forget you, Peach. You imprinted on so many, and had a one-in-a-million personality. I love you. Rest easy. Say hi to the gang. I'll see ya when I see ya.

I am so sorry to hear of PJ's passing. PJ was never far from my family's thoughts over all these years. He spent a lot of time at my house when he was a teenager. He actually surprised my daughter with a kitten for her birthday one year, and that kitten became our family cat, bringing my daughter and our family many years of love and happiness.
I will always remember PJ's beautiful smile, his cheerful attitude and his genuine kind heart.
My deepest sympathies to PJ's family and friends.

PJ was a really special person. I think because he was just so genuine and kind and thoughtful. There was something about him that my whole family just loved. I worked alongside him with my brother's landscaping business sometimes. He was quick to help without asking, always seemed to look out for me. And when we took a break, we would talk about things like bees, trees, living with his Dad, some funny stories. He was just so easy to be around and had a way about him that we all wanted to look out for him too. One of the last memories I have of PJ was when he came to the Christmas tree farm that I also work at this past Christmas. It was the evening, we had been sitting around a bonfire, and we all jumped on the Christmas train pulled by a tractor to check out Santa's cabin. He seemed to be in his element - looking around at the trees, bumping along to Christmas music, with his best friend. (these are a few photos from that night). With that memory, and thinking fondly of our first conversation when he told me he had wanted once to be an arborist, we are going to plant a beautiful oak tree there for PJ this spring in his memory. I think he would like that.
PJ, you will never, ever be forgotten. I'm just so sorry we won't have more of you in the years to come. Thank you for being there for my brother, being so kind to my Mom. One day, I know we'll see you on the other side and in a setting far more beautiful than the outdoors we love so much. Until then, God has called you home and you are at peace...

It was with great sadness and heartbreak to learn of the passing of sweet and kind PJ. I always looked forward to seeing PJ doing his work at our house with my son, Andrew. He was always so polite, thoughtful, and enthusiastic. A wonderful landscaper, but more, a wonderful person. I have fond memories of bringing him out some fruit or veggie smoothies in the morning and he always accepted them. And even when the veggie drinks were bitter - he had a smile and a thank you always! He was the kind of person you wanted to just adopt into your family and give him many big hugs. We will all miss PJ greatly. I'm not sure I will ever look outside my backyard without seeing him there. We will hold him close in our hearts. God bless you PJ and we know you are in the care of the Lord. We love you. Mrs. Guidone. (Andrew's Mom).

PJ was often at our house playing with Kevin. They played video games, football and did some fishing on the lake. He was always smiling and very polite. He was always welcome at our home. I am so very sorry for your loss, there are really no words. Thanks for being a good friend to Kevin! You will be missed PJ!
