Obituary of Anna Louise Fuschetti

Anna “Nana” Louise Fuschetti (née Allocco), a lifelong Madison resident, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. She was 93.

Nana is survived by her two devoted sons, Stephen Fuschetti (Nancy) & David Fuschetti (Dana); two brothers, Joseph Allocco (Sue) & Larry Allocco (Nancy); four cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Fuschetti Wood (Clay), Kyle Fuschetti (Jean), Stephanie Fuschetti, & Nicholas Fuschetti; five great-grandchildren, Lily, Cole, Anthony, Jackson & Genevieve; two sister-in-laws, Theresa Allocco and Sheila Allocco; and many nieces, nephews & dear friends who were a big part of her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Joseph “Joe” A. Fuschetti in 2002; and her siblings, Pauline Troianello, Vincent Allocco, Michael Allocco, Genevive Allocco & Anthony Allocco.

Nana was born on South Street in Madison on June 21, 1929 to the late Jerry & Annie Allocco. She was raised in Madison along with her seven siblings and was a graduate of St. Vincent Martyr School and Madison High School. Her childhood was filled with lots of laughter and her adventures with her siblings continued into her adult years: going on trips down the Shore with their children, enjoying boisterous Christmas Eve dinners, and celebrating life’s many milestones.

She loved her close-knit family deeply and was selfless in her constant attention to their well-being. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - whether living nearby or across the country, they always felt her love and support. During the pandemic when the country had to shelter in place, Nana, at the age of 90, made a point to learn how to FaceTime and use Google Photos in an effort to not miss a moment of her great-grandchildrens’ lives.

Nana loved to cook for her family and friends; her meatballs, in particular, were always a fan favorite. One of her favorite past times was hosting loved ones for a cup of coffee and she made clear that everyone was always welcome at her table. She felt blessed to have incredible neighbors throughout her 65+ years on South Street and in particular, grateful to have her nieces around the corner.

Nana loved to socialize and meet new people. Wherever she went she always ended up making a new friend; she had a genuine interest in people, a good-hearted nature and a quietly magnetic personality. Her family would often comment that her home phone was constantly ringing off the hook. She deeply treasured her friends, often sharing stories from her nights with “The Knits” and other groups she would see weekly. Her age did not define her; she regularly attended exercise classes at the YMCA up until her final months and very intentionally wanted to live life to the fullest.

She was a faithful parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr for her entire life and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her family finds peace in knowing that she is now reunited with the love of her life, Joe, and with her heavenly Father.

Nana will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.

Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 prior to a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Those who wish to attend the mass virtually may do so by visiting www.svmnj.org

Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison.
