Obituary of Robert Alan Sutton

Robert Allan Sutton, of Kingston, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 86.

Robert was born in Kingston upon Thames, London, England on August 15, 1937, to the late Stanley and Frances Sutton. At the age of 12, Robert migrated to Taranaki, New Zealand with two older brothers as part of Britain’s post-war child migrant program.

Robert moved to the United States in 1967 where he ultimately worked as an IT Specialist, retiring from Boys Markets in Los Angeles, California. After retirement he lived in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii for 20 years. 

Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Catherine Sutton Mandeville, and his son, Jeffrey Scott Sutton.

He leaves behind his devoted daughter-in-law, Cynthia Sutton; his grandson, Amos “Sbu” Sibusiso; his grandson, James Robert Mandeville, and his siblings and extended family in Australia, Ireland,  New Zealand and Britain.

Services for Robert are being held privately for his family under the care of Madison Memorial Home.
