Obituary of Thomas D. Cavezza
Thomas Dante Cavezza, a lifelong resident of East Hanover, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at home. He was 52.
Tom is survived by his father, Carmine A. Cavezza; two brothers, Michael A. Cavezza and James C. Cavezza and his wife Meredith; three cherished nephews, Dante, Nicholas and Matteo; and several extended family members and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Diana Cavezza (née Rizzo); and an infant sister, Christina Cavezza.
Tom was born in Morristown on June 19, 1971 and was raised in East Hanover with his two brothers, Michael and James. He was a graduate of Hanover Park High School.
Ever since he was a boy, Tom loved fishing and the serenity of being on the water surrounded by nature. He enjoyed taking his kayak on fishing trips to small, remote lakes throughout upstate New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Tom was an avid angler at the Jersey shore as well. He especially loved taking his nephews fishing and the joy that it brought them.
Tom was a genuine person and the most devoted friend anyone could have. He was generous with his family and friends with his time and attention, and he would help anyone in need. Tom’s three nephews meant the world to him and he was so proud of their accomplishments, especially their sports skills.
Tom worked at the East Hanover Department of Public Works for many years, with PSE&G, and most recently as a self-employed contractor.
Although Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends, we all take solace in knowing he is at peace with the Lord.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2024 held at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.
