Obituary of Jonathan Henry Miller

Jonathan Henry Miller, longtime Berkeley Heights resident, passed away peacefully Monday, March 25, 2024. 

 

He was born May 6, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA. 

 

Jon was raised in Mount Lebanon, PA the South Hills of Pittsburgh. He graduated Mt. Lebanon High School in 1963 and went on to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, earning a degree in Economics.  West Virginia Wesleyan is where he met his wife Susan Sherrer Miller.  Jon graduated WVWC in 1967 and enlisted in the US Air Force. 

 

After proudly serving his country abroad he was honorably discharged March 19, 1974. He and Suzie returned to Berkeley Heights, NJ and raised a family there.  Jon & Sue would make Berkeley Heights their home for the next 43 years. 

 

Jon was a family man and patriot, through and through.  He served on the Union County Regional School Board for one term, an elected position. 

 

He was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and attended Super Bowl XXX in Tempe, AZ.  He was also a fierce Pittsburgh Pirate fan. Jon enjoyed a decorated career in the insurance industry before retiring to South Kingstown, RI. 

 

Jon always had a bright and sunny disposition and always wore a smile.  He was adored by his children and grandchildren alike. Surviving are daughter Melissa Miller and son in law Andy Neill, grandsons Luke, Tucker & Harrison Neill of South Kingstown, RI; son Keith Miller and daughter in law Amanda Miller, granddaughter Vivian Miller and grandson Owen Miller of Madison, NJ; Rod & Dana Miller of Dalton, GA along with granddaughters Hannah & Claire Miller.
