Obituary of Sharon M. Littlejohn
Sharon Mae Friedman Littlejohn, a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 5, 2024. She was 72.
Sharon leaves behind her beloved husband of 36 years, James Robert Littlejohn; one brother, Leonard Friedman; one sister, Irene Friedman; one niece, and many dear friends.
Sharon was born in Morristown on May 5, 1951, to the late Dr. Myron L. and Lola Friedman (née Melman). She was a proud graduate of Morristown High School, after which she attended the College of St. Elizabeth, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Sharon met her beloved husband Bob in 1982 when she visited the store he was working at. The couple became inseparable, marrying on May 21, 1988. She had a 30-year long career with Morris County Social Services, working her way up to administrator before her retirement. Sharon cared deeply for people, which was reflected both in her work and in her desire to give to others. She generously donated to many different charities throughout her life, and she was always willing to do anything for her family and friends.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed reading the bible and watching every Hallmark movie she could. Her family will never forget her kind and giving spirit, though they take solace in knowing that she is at peace.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial visitation for Sharon on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM memorial service held at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.
In lieu of flowers, Sharon’s family requests charitable donations made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
