Carmen (Sony) Maccario
AGE: 84 • West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Madison
Carmen (Sony) Maccario, 84 passed away July 21, 2015 after a short illness. He was born and raised in Madison, and lived the last 30 years in West Palm Beach Florida. Sony graduated from Madison High School class of 1949. He served in the US Army. He was a professional Golf Caddy at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ among various other courses in both NJ and Florida.
Sony's Italian nickname with his North Star fiends was "fafa". His name is on the Honor Roll at the Borough Hall in Madison. He loved to read and spent many hours at the library. He was a trivia expert. He enjoyed going to the movies and the dog track.
He is survived by two sisters, Fran Elias and Mary Mastrobuono, as well as many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of playing for hours on end with Uncle Sony games like Kick the Can, 1-2-3 Red Light, Freeze Tag, Home Free All, and Knuckles.
He is pre-deceased by sisters Millie Seaberg, Sue Bello, Donna Goduto, and Lena Mercurio and brothers, Carmen DeMaio, Ted DeMaio, Jim DeMaio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Monday , July 27, at 9am from the Madison Memorial Home 159 Main St. Madison with a funeral mass at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison, at 10am. Interment St. Vincents Cemetery. Hours of visitation on Sunday July 26, from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Madison Ambulance Corp in his memory would be appreciated.
