Obituary of Jane P. Dalena

Jane P. Dalena AGE: 93 • Florham Park Jane P. Dalena (nee Popelka), 83, passed away Monday morning, August 15, 2016 at her home in Florham Park. Born and raised in Dover, she had lived in Florham Park since 1958. Mrs. Dalena earned full scholarship to the former Newark State Teachers College where she earned her Bachelors Degree in education. She taught briefly before becoming a homemaker so that she could raise her family. She was a longtime member Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Florham Park, as well as the Florham Park Historical Society and the Florham Park Senior Citizens. Preceded in death by her husband, Albert Dalena, and a sister, Barbara Carnegie; she is survived by her four daughters, Beth Dalena Thompson of Whippany, Stephanie Dalena Akers (Dick) of Florham Park, Anne Dalena of Convent Station, and Katie Dalena Label (Matt) of Florham Park; a sister, Dorothy Borowski of Belvidere; and eight grandchildren, Suzanne, Alison, and Erika Thompson, Thomas Akers, Kate and Jack Nagle, and Samuel and Jake Label. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, August 17, 4-8pm at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main St., Madison, The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 18, 10:00am at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Florham Park. Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson's Research would be appreciated. Mrs. Dalena was a homemaker.
