Obituary of Michelle R. Garrubbo
Michelle R. Garrubbo (nee Zinser), age 50, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her home in New Vernon.
She was raised in Springfield, OH. Michelle married Philip E. Garrubbo in 1994 and they lived in Madison and Atlanta, GA, before settling in New Vernon.
Michelle was a graduate of Notre Dame University and the University of Dayton Law School. She was an attorney before she put her career on hold to raise her three sons. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Martyr RC Church in Madison, where she formed the Special Needs Ministry and was very active in St. Vincent Martyr School. She was also very active in the Angelman Syndrome Foundation. Michelle enjoyed music. She performed as the lead singer in several rock bands since college and until recently. Michelle sang "Me and Bobby McGee" better than Janis Joplin! She loved Rock n' Roll.
Michelle was predeceased by her mother, Sondra Zinser (nee Eades) and her brother, Robbie. She leaves behind her loving husband, Philip Garrubbo; three cherished sons, Dante, Damian, and Philly; her father Robert Zinser and his wife Barbara; brother, Brian Zinser and his wife Ami of Chatham; two brother-in-laws, Edwin Garrubbo and his wife Patricia of Berwyn, PA, and Mario Garrubbo, Jr. of Madison; 5 nieces and nephews, Brittani, Savannah, Maddie, Veronica, and Sebastian, and she was the daughter-in-law of Rosemary and Tom Finnegan of Madison.
Funeral services will begin 11:30AM on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 1:00PM Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King RC Church, New Vernon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday from 3-5PM and 7-9PM at the funeral home.
