Obituary of Andrew "Andy" Salerno
Andrew (Andy) Salerno, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center with his family by his side. He was 67.
Born and raised in Summit, Andy moved to Madison in 1971 after marrying his best friend and beloved wife, Geraldine Salerno (nee Troianello). He graduated from college after majoring in electronics, which began his life-long career in the industry. He was the manager & supervisor of customer service for ASCO in Florham Park for over 30 years, before retiring in 2010.
Andy was the kind of person who was always willing to lend a hand. He was an outstanding chef, winemaker and outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening, but more than anything he treasured spending time with his family. He was an active parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison, New Jersey.
Andy was predeceased by his father, Louis Salerno. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Geraldine Salerno of Madison; his dear mother, Dorothy Salerno (nee Rudisi) of Summit; one son, Greg Salerno of Madison, and his wife, Alicia; one daughter, Andrea Tsimboukis of Berkeley Heights, and her husband, John; one brother, Louis Salerno of Florham Park, and his wife Janet; two sisters, Rosemary Carey of DE, and Donna Coughlin of FL, and her husband, Tom; two sister-in-laws, Gail Bartz of Madison, and her husband, Ronny, and Christine Troianello of Whippany; five cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Nina, Lily, Eva, and Jack, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
