Obituary of Philomena Valentino

Philomena Valentino (nee Dascoll), a long-time Florham Park resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Care One in Livingston. She was 103 years old and just two weeks short of her 104th birthday.

Philomena was born and raised in Madison. She and her beloved husband, the late Anthony L. Valentino, moved to Florham Park in the late 1950's where the couple raised their family, and she has lived ever since. Philomena was a woman of great faith and was an active member of Holy Family RC Church in Florham Park.

She attended Kean University (then Newark College), and she earned both her bachellor's degree and master's degree in Elementary Education from Seton Hall University. She was an elementary school teacher in Union, NJ for 40 years, before her retirement.

She leaves behind her daughter, Camille Valentino; a grand-daughter, Janine Valentino; and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held privately and are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. Interment will be a St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison.
