Obituary of Carmen Massaro
Carmen Massaro, of Madison, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2018 at age 79.
Carmen leaves behind his beloved wife of 38 years, Mary Massaro (nee Harvey); his two daughters, Theresa Rega and her husband, Tony of Florham Park & Lisa Massaro and her husband, Guy Pouffany of Port Colden; four sons, Carmen Massaro, Jr. of Hackettstown, Michael Massaro of Cape May, Anthony Massaro of FL and James Harvey, Jr. of TX; one brother, Frank Massaro of Andover; and one sister, Phyllis Bolcar of FL. Carmen was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his dear parents, Francesco and Diletta Massaro; one sister, Mary Marcantonio; and one brother, Michael Massaro.
Carmen was born in Morristown and was a lifelong Madison resident. He was the owner of Carmen Massaro, LLC, a building contractor firm in the Madison area. Carmen was a pioneer in the local building and contracting industry when, several decades ago, he began purchasing older homes and renovating them from the ground up into larger, modern and more spacious homes. His legacy will live on in the younger generation of his family that continue his hard work and determination. Carmen was a member of the Northstars of Madison, a place which he enjoyed spending time with his many friends.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00AM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Cremation will be held privately at the family’s request. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Carmen’s life from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
