Obituary of Loretta E. Pechinski
Loretta E. Pechinski (nee Lash), a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 13, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 86.
Loretta was born in New York City on January 19, 1932 to the late Charles and Mary Lash, and was raised in Green Point, Brooklyn. She was a resident of Madison for the last 50 years, where she and her beloved husband, the late Leo W. Pechinski raised their family. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Hunter College in NY. Loretta dedicated her life to children’s education as a 5th Grade teacher for over 20 years with the Madison School System, before retiring. Generations of students remember her for the positive impact she made guiding them towards a successful future. Loretta adored her grandchildren and would do anything for them. She also loved shopping, playing cards and long drives. Loretta also enjoyed trips to NYC for Broadway shows and operas.
Loretta leaves behind her daughter Debbie Kostibos of Madison; her son, Alan Pechinski and his wife Lynn, of Medford; and two grandchildren, Michael and Kaytee & her fiancé, Matt Myers.
A visitation to celebrate Loretta’s life will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, with a funeral service lead by Fr. Matthew Kranc beginning at 1:30PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be held privately at the family’s request.
