Obituary of James "Jimmy" Germershausen

 James “Jimmy” Germershausen passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the age of 64. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

Jimmy was raised in Florham Park and resided in Cedar Knolls with his family for the past 25 years. He had a long career as a maintenance mechanic with Automatic Switch Co. in Florham Park and then with Linde Corp. in Murray Hill, before retiring two years ago. Jimmy treasured the time he spent with his family, especially with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a Harley Davidson aficionado and enjoyed getting out on the road with his motorcycle.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Agnes “Pat” Germershausen; his father-in-law, Norman Brown; and his sisters, Kathleen F. Germershausen & Maureen Velez. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Colleen Germershausen (nee Brown); his son, Ryan Germershausen; his two daughters, Kimberly Germershausen & Angela Colin and her husband, Nicholas; one brother, Charles Germershausen and his wife, Mary Lou; two sisters, Mary Ellen Blair and her husband, William & Patricia DiFrancesco and her husband, Dominick; his grandson, Grady Colin; granddaughter, Quinn Colin; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Jimmy’s life held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison with a funeral service held at 3:00PM during the visitation. Cremation will be held privately at the family’s request.
