Obituary of Charles Hume
Charles Hume, a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the age of 82.
Charles was born on September 16, 1936 in Orange, VA to the late Clinton and Lucille Hume. He has been a Madison resident for 70 years and was one of the founding members of the Bethel AME Church of Madison.
Before retiring, Charles had a career spanning 30 years as a pharmaceutical operator with Warner Lambert in Morris Plains. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Charles will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife, Geraldine Hume in 2000. He is survived by his two sons, Kevin & Jonathan Hume; one brother, Joseph Hume, Jr.; his cherished granddaughter, Tachelle Jackson; two dear great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Bethel AME Church, 53 Central Avenue, Madison. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Charles' life on Friday from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the Bethel AME Church, prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home.
