Obituary of Anke Lofrese
Anke Lofrese (nee Fischer), a longtime Florham Park resident, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Scotch Plains after a long illness. She was 78.
Anke was born in Hamburg, Germany on May 5, 1940 to the late Bernhardt and Dorothea Fischer. She was raised in Germany and earned her bachelors degree in economics there, prior also studying in Geneva, Switzerland.
Through her formal education and business experience, Anke became a highly organized bookkeeper with impeccable accounting skills. She had a long career with several accounting firms in both Germany and the United States, when she moved here in the 1960’s. She retired from the Hyde & Watson Foundation in Warren in 2012, where she was a controller for many years.
Anke was married to her beloved husband, Domick Loferese, and the couple enjoyed world travel in their younger years. They often recalled how fortunate they were to see the many places throughout Europe and the world they visited. Anke cherished her family and she had a strong faith in God.
Anke is predeceased by her parents and her brother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dominck Lofrese of Florham Park; one daughter, Dorothy Vignali of NC; two cherished grandchildren; and many good friends.
Funeral services for Anke will be held privately for her family and are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home.
