Obituary of Joanna Larsen

Joanna Larsen, a longtime Morristown resident, died peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.

Joanna was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on September 3, 1937 to the late Ignatius and Anna Serocki. She settled in Morristown 41 years ago with her beloved husband, the late William Larsen, where they raised their cherished family. Joanna was dedicated to her family and did all she could to make life comfortable for them. She loved gardening, trips to Atlantic City and Florida with her family.

In addition to her parents, Joanna was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Larsen in 1994. She is survived by her son, Eric Larsen and his wife, Lisa of Morris Township; her daughter, Debbie McLaughlin and her husband, John of Florham Park; six grandchildren, Zackary Larsen, Joshua Larsen, Pamela Gorga, Patricia McLaughlin, Johnny McLaughlin & Brian McLaughlin; 8 great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Joanna’s life held from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. All may gather at the funeral home at 8:30am on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 prior to a 9:30am funeral service held at the funeral home, led by Msgr. George Hundt. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Joanna's memory to the Horizon School for Children with Disabilities, which was her grandson's school.
