Obituary of Gustavo Munoz-Neira
Gustavo A. Munoz-Neira, 53, of Manville, died peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 at home surrounded by the love of his family after a valiant battle with brain cancer.
Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia he came to the United States with his family in 2003. Gustavo worked as a landscaper for over ten years, most recently with Rite Way landscaping of Bridgewater.
He was a dedicated hard worker in all aspects of his life, always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, especially to Mexico.
Gustavo was known as a selfless compassionate soul; he was a dedicated uncle, brother, son and friend. Most of all, he was proud to devote his life to being a loving husband and father to his three children. He lead by example and showed all who knew him that his legacy of kindness does not die with him, but carries on in them and the stories they have of him.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Elsa Mayo in 2009
Surviving are his parents, Gustavo Muñoz-Mora and Blanca Inez Neira, his beloved wife of 37 years, Olga Lucia Galindo Suárez, his cherished children Chrystian Munoz and wife Stephanie, Gustavo Munoz, Jr. and girlfriend Valeria Zevallos, and Laura Munoz, his dear brothers Oswaldo and Alvaro, sisters-in-law Stella and Elizabeth, as well as his nieces, nephews, extended in-laws, friends, and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge Street, Newark.
