Obituary of Frank Marinaccio

Frank J. Marinaccio, a longtime Florham Park resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Care One in Morristown. He was 85.

Frank was born in Madison on May 22, 1934 to the late Crescenzo and Antoinette Marinaccio. He was raised in Madison and was a graduate of Madison High School, where he played Varsity Football, Basketball, and Golf. Frank served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict prior to being honorably discharged, receiving the Good Conduct medal. Frank settled in Florham Park where he raised his family and has lived for the past 60 years.

Before retiring, Frank was a highly skilled machinist. He performed much of his work as a field technician for the Bobst-Champlain Company of Roseland. He was responsible for overseeing and orchestrating complex repairs to machinery utilized within multiple industries. Frank was well known for his expertise within his field and his precision. At the same time Frank also managed and maintained several of his apartment rental properties in the area. He would eventually transition into managing his properties on a full-time basis after his retirement from Bobst-Champlain.

Frank was a humble, dependable and faith-filled man. He was an active parishioner of St. Rose of Lima RC Church in East Hanover. Frank was a church usher for many years, assisted with church maintenance, and most notably he volunteered a great amount of time assisting in the coordination of the Meals on Wheels program. He often managed the routes of the program's 26 drivers, making sure that the area elderly and house-bound received meals daily. On many occasions when a driver was sick or unable to assist, Frank personally filled their position. Quite often he would be called upon by the elderly he met through the program in making repairs within their homes. He spent his life helping others and felt it was his purpose.

Frank was a dedicated fan of the NY Yankees. He found peace in gardening and loved to be outdoors, especially the beach in his younger years. He was physically fit and went to his gym daily to exercise. Frank also loved his home workshop and kept his mechanical mind sharp, even after his retirement as a machinist. He could also often be found in the kitchen preparing gourmet meals for his loved ones. Above all Frank loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Frank was predeceased by his sister, Florence Mazzarisi. He is survived by his longtime companion, Cheryl Schauble “Buffie” of Florham Park; two daughters, Tina Marinaccio and her companion, Richard Lubben of Morristown & Lisa DeMuro and her husband, Tom of Flemington; one son, David Marinaccio of White Meadow Lake; and two cherished grandchildren, Andrew & Luke DeMuro.

A private family graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home.
