Dear Pip & Cathy & family. Your mother was a lady of grace, intelligence, humor and a light of the Lord to many. She was my friend. I met her when I joined the Calligraphers' Guild and shared many a card making session with her. We kept in touch when she moved and I enjoyed listening to her adventures with family & granchildren on the east coast. So glad she wrote and published her memoir book(s). I will miss her and her cheerful voice & life wisdom. Myself & our Calligraphers' Guild sends our sincerest condolences to everyone & may God comfort you as you grieve.

I am so sorry for the loss of Helen. I taught at Orchard Hill Elementary with her and am now retired. Helen was in the last classroom down the hall from my 2nd grade room. We called it the “retirement room” as soon after Helen retired, the next teachers in the room all retired from there. She would often have afternoon tea in her classroom serving us worn out teachers from China tea cups. When I started teaching 2nd from Kindergarten, she sat down with me and gave advice on keeping a grade book. “ Give one grade per subject per week for each child and you will always have something to show parents.” She and Vic also showed us how to run the kiln and Vic would often fire our students’ projects. We continued ceramic projects in our classrooms until retirement. I have such fond memories of a wonderful teacher and engaging, warm woman. I'm so sorry for your loss. I taught with Helen at Orchard Hill my first year there. I've thought about her often. She was one classy lady! I'm at school (still at Orchard Hill) on Monday so I won't be attending her service. She will be in my heart on Monday. much love, Kelly Reid
