Obituary of Carmela "Carmey" A. Buhrman
Our beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Carmela “Carmey” A. Buhrman passed away on December 26, 2019 at the age of 93. Carmey was born and raised in Madison, NJ and attended the Madison schools. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Morristown Memorial Hospital, receiving her degree in 1971. She was a loyal member of the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corp for 10 years. Carmey worked 25 years at St. Anne’s Villa in Convent Station, NJ, a retirement and convalescent home for the Sisters of Charity.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Anthony Allocco; her husband of 55 years, Robert Buhrman; and three sisters, Anne Allocco, Pauline Seeds, and Patty DiSarno. Surviving are her three children, Nancy Wall of Port St. Lucie, FL, Robert Buhrman and his wife, Stacey of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Richard Buhrman of Summit, NJ. She is also survived by five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mary Flood and Palmina DeBiasse of Madison, NJ.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, January 3, 2020 at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison NJ. Arrangements are entrusted to Haisley Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie, FL and Madison Memorial Home in Madison, NJ.
Carmey will be remembered by all who knew her for her generous spirit, kind heart, and love for her family. We will forever be blessed with treasured memories of a life well lived.
