Obituary of Nina Gallo

Nina Gallo (nee Inzerillo), a resident of Florham Park, died peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the age of 89.

Nina was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 13, 1930 to the late Joseph and Vincenza Inzerillo. She was raised in Brooklyn in a loving family of three children. From a young age, Nina was instilled with a strong sense of faith, devotion to family and pride in her work by her parents.

Nina was married to her beloved husband, the late Vincent J. Gallo on July 7, 1956 after his return from the Korean War. The couple settled in their home borough of Brooklyn, where they raised their family and remained close with their extended families and friends. Nina and Vincent relocated to Malverne, Long Island in their retirement in 2001, where they lived for several years. Nina recently relocated to Florham Park two and a half years ago to be closer to her family and grandchildren.

Nina is best described as world’s best mother. Everything she did throughout her life was for the benefit of her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was an incredible Italian cook and was an extremely talented baker of cookies and cakes. She was a professional seamstress and was taught & retained the old-world techniques which enabled her to create some of the most beautiful garments for both men and women. She also loved knitting and hand-made countless blankets and beautiful afghans for family and friends. Nina was also very involved with her grandchildren and she loved them dearly.

Nina will be deeply missed by her loving family and the beautiful memories will remain in their hearts forever.

In addition to her parents, Nina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent J. Gallo in 2012; and her two sisters, Vita Pane & Rosalie Sorrentino. She is survived by her son, Ernie Gallo and his wife, Susan of Florham Park; her daughter, Lisa Gallo of East Rockaway, NY; and her three cherished grandsons, Vincent, David and James Gallo.

A graveside service for Nina will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 12:30PM at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Vincent. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home.
