The birth of my daughter is coming up on 28 years.... Nov 7,1992. My family and I moved to California in 1996. For some reason, felt the urge to google my dear doctor, Dr. Comerci tonight..... so very sorry to hear of his passing this past July. He truly was the very best OB/GYN Doctor ever..... so very kind, caring and compassionate. I still think about him and how much I appreciated he was one of the rare doctors who didn’t just show up the last half hour before his patient gave birth.... remember my husband and Dr. Comerci were watching the Notre Dame football game that afternoon while I was laboring... all good!!!
Thank you Dr. Comerci for your kindness,, love & caring; you will always hold a very special place in my heart:)!
Love & blessings to your family,
Teri Rekoon

We send our sincere sympathy to Aunt Geri, cousins John, Tom and Marybeth, and families. We have the fondest memories of “Uncle John”; he was always there for us all through good times and bad.
As the daughter of his older brother Nick; our families lived close enough to see him regularly. I have so many happy memories of extended family gatherings and holidays throughout the years. Uncle John was always interested in our lives as kids and was a great inspiration and example to us as we were growing up.
Before my earliest memories were formed, my Mom told me the story numerous times about Uncle John rushing up to our house to treat my high fevers. So many times, in fact, that I can swear those memories were real. However, I will always truly remember the support he provided my mother, brother and me all through my Dad’s illness. Together with Aunt Geri, Uncle Jim and Aunt Tina, he braved the rainstorm the night of my Dad’s passing to be with him and comfort us.
I remember as a teenager, being intrigued by his pager; which we now know was a sign of things to come. But way back then, it was the miracle technology making him to available to his patients. To this day, I still come across those former patients, including my maternal cousin and a long-lost friend from NJ, who submitted their condolences on this website. I find this is testimony in itself to a wonderful doctor; when past patients not only remember him, but were touched so much by his care that they take time to honor him over 30 years later.
I will miss calling him every Oct 14th, his shared birthday with my Dad. In these later years, he would exclaim “Oh, Linda, I’ve been waiting for your call...I was just saying to Geri, ‘I haven’t heard from Linda yet’, I hope she calls”. Then he would proceed to tell me his memories of my Dad, which even after hearing many times, I still loved. He and my Dad shared that same sense of humor: to those who knew them both, no description is necessary…they must have been quite the team back in the day!
All of us were blessed by knowing this warm and wonderful man, who truly met his calling. I am fortunate to have known him all my life and have benefitted from his sense of family which I still hold dear today. Although separated in distance, I am pretty sure that all my cousins would agree that we still feel the closeness of being raised by parents who had such strong convictions. Thanks to Uncle John, our respective parents, and that entire generation that bound us together and keeps us in touch through all these years.
Love, Linda and Doug

Dr. John was a prominent and guiding force in our extended family. He was admired by everyone for his calm, caring and reassuring demeanor. He was my doctor until his retirement. He delivered my daughter who arrived unexpectedly and prematurely 32 years ago. I’ll always remember that Dr. John was waiting for me when I arrived at the emergency room which was such a relief. There was never any question that I was in excellent hands.
Dr. John was always there to guide us through various serious health matters and the passing of our senior family members. He was a tremendous comfort to all of us for which we have always been very grateful.
He was a great man with unique qualities that were appreciated and relied on by all who interacted with him. I know I speak for others in the family that we will greatly miss him.
My deepest sympathies go especially to his immediate family.

So sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Comerci! He delivered all 3 of my children and was one of the most caring and compassionate doctors I have ever met. His wonderful bedside manner, warm smile and good common sense advice were a sharp contrast to many other doctors at the time. His suggestion of a little glass of red wine in the evening, was my favorite advice. Hoping that their many wonderful memories will console his family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Dr. Comerci.
Sincerely,
Joanne Manto Gocel

Dr Comerci was my Gyn. for 20 years. When you spend that length of time with a physician you can learn a lot from just waiting around the office. When Dr. C came in from delivering a baby he glowed! If he had operated sometimes he was subdued. But alway he was concerned, kind, involved and communicated clearly throughout. Since he retired I have not found anyone practicing of his caliber care & caring. To Dr Comerci you were always more than a patient, you were a whole person. What was in your mind & heart mattered as much as what was in your body. I have missed him since his retirement. I will continue to miss him,.
John T. Comerci was one of a kind.

Dr. John’s brother Nick is my dear Uncle.
When I was in H.S John was my Doctor
A wonderful guy and terrific Dr.
I remember my last Appt. when he told me he could no longer be my Dr since he was a gynecologist.
I didn’t know what that was so I said “but can you still be my Dr? He just broke out laughing and said “sorry no”
He was more then a Dr, he was a friend. RIP Dr John

John, Tom, MaryBeth and families, my sincere condolences for the loss of your Dad. Uncle John’s heart truly belonged to his family. He was a great son, father, husband, uncle, and wonderful brother to his siblings, I am ever grateful for his many years concern and care for my dad, his brother, helping my mom navigate his medical challenges and feeling secure that Uncle John was on the case.
I was always proud to say “yes” when total strangers saw my name and asked if I was related to Dr. Comerci. Then heard story after story of the children he delivered, the great care they received, how cared for he made them feel. He had that Comerci dry sense of humor and wit. Uncle John, Rest In Peace, you are one of those that helped make the world around you a better place. With love Christine

Apologies in advance for the length of my remembrance below.
I am among the huddled masses with the great fortune to have Dr. John deliver my children. While every birth comes with its unique drama, the common thread for my wife, Nancy and I in the arrival of each of our three children was the enormous comfort of being in his skillful hands. "Deliver" is such an apt word for John, as his tenderness, warmth, and loving care were so befitting a messenger of God. Under Dr. John's watch, we were doubly blessed.
As special as those life defining moments were for me, my respect and admiration for John run even deeper. The connection of our families brought us together occasionally beginning as far back as I can remember. He was a contemporary of my parents and there were always a gaggle of kids running around, so our interactions were few and brief. However, for some reason the gentle, kind and upbeat demeanor with which he treated all stood starkly out to me. Whether he was interacting with a peer, an elder or a child, he was keenly sensitive to making them feel good. I saw him do it with wit, thoughtful questioning, complements, and plain old small talk. Always with a face and eyes that were quietly telling you he was sincere in his care for your well being. These qualities in him never wavered over the decades and I grew immensely fond of him for them. In my best moments I find myself consciously trying to emulate him. I am so grateful to have known him.
Truly the greatest of The Greatest Generation.
My deepest sympathies to all his loved ones.
