I knew Andy quite well while at Lehigh and we remained friends for many years afterward. Unfortunately, with my move to Florida almost 30 years ago, we lost contact. I always enjoyed time with him - his sense of humor, working on cars together, and just hanging out. Truly a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers go to his family, friends, and all those who knew him. He will certainly be missed.

My Condolences to the Stillinger Family and Friends of Dear Andy. I first met Andy, through our common Amateur Radio hobby, through the New Providence Amateur Radio Club; probably back in early 1980's. He took part in numerous Club activities, over the years; including operating Field Day and presenting numerous programs, always of interesting topics. His knowledge on many subjects was amazing; But his Willingness and Desire to Share his vast knowledge and experience, exceeded all expectations. Andy was One of a Kind ! 73 to WA2DKJ (SK) from WB2QOQ ! May Andy Rest In Peace !

I am a friend of Andy's and Nicole's from Sparta. Nicole and I share a building and when Andy visited her, I sometimes visited with him.....so we spent time together, sharing Nicole and Biscuit. At the moment Biscuit is in my office and I think that his shaking and his neediness is because he lost his best friend. Dogs know and feel the loss of someone they love.
I am a travel agent and because Andy went to Antarctica I watched for the new trips coming out to that destination. Andy was very bright and he lectured a group of us at the Lake Mohawk Country Club about his experiences there and it was a great learning experience....he was a professional and knowledgeable and interesting .I saw the video that was made by the chef Andrew Bourdain in the cafeteria of the American Base....there was Andy in a blue T. So exciting.
i liked him a lot. Being unique, to me, is a good thing. Talking a lot about politics, life's twists, being a small part of life with Andy and Nicole in Sparta was wonderful. I miss him, He was special . He is gone too soon. May his memory be a blessing.

I knew Andy from my two deployments to Antarctica and in that short span I got to know him and how caring, kind, generous, and humorous he was. He was the mentor that I wish I had because he shared his knowledge and experience so openly and positively. He always wanted to help. I am so saddened to hear of his passing and that I won't see him again.

Dear Dot and Frank,
I was so saddened to learn of your loss of Andy.
It was such a pleasure for me to work and interact with him on the research instrumentation and facilities that he was involved with at NJIT for the Antarctic program. His contributions to the U.S. Antarctic program went far beyond his technical skills, including education, collaboration across groups and disciplines, and warm comradely.

Andy was a well-loved member of the polie family, and his absence will be felt deeply. There are five of us wintering this year who knew and loved him, and we met to toast his memory and tell stories. He was such a wonderful light in the world, and we will miss his smile, his humor, his dedication, and...just...everything about this wonderful man. South Pole truly will never be the same.

Andy was one of our favorite visitors to South Pole and we are really going to miss him. He was smart, funny and one of the most helpful people we've worked with. We always looked forward to his trips to Pole and he is going to be missed.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with Andy during the summer of 2017/2018 at the South Pole. He was great to work with, and always brought a smile. His role as part of the Bob-Andy-Gil Show (some of the strongest intellects to converge in one place at the same time) was a boon to all. My well wishes and condolences go out to his family and friends in New Jersey and beyond.

I'm sorry to hear of Andy's passing, a good friend growing up in Chatham. A fellow ham radio operator, we obtained our novice license a few weeks apart, and traveled together to the NYC FCC testing center to upgrade. He lived a full life with many achievements, always ready to lend a hand. He will be missed by many friends he made along the way. My condolences to his family.
