Obituary of Martina W. Fernandez

Martina W. Fernandez (nee Kudelin) died peacefully at Morristown Medical Center after a long illness on April 5, 2021 at the age of 74.

Martina was born in Germany on June 16, 1946, one of three children, to her loving parents, the late Wasili and Cecilia Kudelin. She and her family emigrated to the United States in the early 1950’s and settled in the Passaic, NJ area. Martina graduated from Eastside High in Paterson.

After high school she met Ubaldo Fernandez and the two were married. They settled in the Clifton area where they raised their family. Martina was a telephone operator for many years for a physician’s answering service in Ringwood, NJ. She also worked for International Glasses processing orders for eyeglasses and frames.

Martina was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother & aunt. Her life revolved around her family and they will forever treasure her memory and hold them near to the heart.

Martina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ubaldo Fernandez in 1988 & her dear son, Anthony Fernandez in 2000. She is survived by her son, Walter Fernandez; her daughter, Lisa Fernandez; her brothers, Michael Kudelin & John Comito and his wife, Maryjane; her sister, Eugenia Steblinski and her husband, Wayne; cherished grandchildren, Kamari & Memorie; her beloved nieces, Nicole, Jessica, Elissa, Courtney & Amanda; and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held privately for Martina and are under the care of the Madison Memorial Home.
