Obituary of Stanislawa Tarajkowski
Stanislawa Tarajkowski, a longtime resident of Brooklyn, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 24, 2021. She just turned 97.
Stanislawa was born in Olawa, Poland on June 24, 1924 to the late Antoni and Katarzyna Kaleucha. She was raised there with her older sister until WWII when she was separated from the rest of her family. She was evacuated on her own to the Soviet Union, living in various cities, as well as Siberia, until the war was over. Upon returning to Poland, she used the Red Cross to locate her family, who had emigrated to New York after the war, after having escaped to England. She sailed into New York and reunited with her family in 1960. After marrying the late Henryk Tarajkowski, they settled in Brooklyn.
Stanislawa was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She had traditional values and took excellent care of her home in Brooklyn. She was the landlady of her house in Brooklyn where for many years she independently maintained the building. Stanislawa loved cooking, gardening, various needle crafts and sewing fashionable outfits for herself and her family. She took great comfort in her faith and was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa-St Casimir Church in Brooklyn.
Stanislawa will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and sister, Stanislawa was predeceased by her husband, Henryk Tarajkowski in 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Lila Tarajkowski of Madison; and her two cherished grandchildren, Katerina and Alexander Rettino.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 held at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30PM on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 654 Ferry Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery located on the grounds of the church.
