Obituary of Josette Daichman
Josephine “Josette” Anne Marie Daichman (nee Girouard), a longtime resident of Maplewood, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Pine Acres in Madison. She was 89.
Josette was born in the town of Lagacéville in New Brunswick, Canada to the late Antoine and Emily Girouard (nee Savoie). She had five siblings.
At a very young age she moved to the United States where she created a wonderful life and touched many lives in the process.
She was so very charismatic, talented, creative and always willing to take on her next challenge. Having successfully managed to build multiple businesses she also enjoyed the culinary arts and had a keen sense of style. Josette was an incredible cook and had amazing professional culinary abilities in addition to her natural artistic talents. She had a tremendous unmatched strength, determination and strong will. She accomplished anything she put her mind to and inspired many people.
Her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, and they find peace in knowing that she is at peace.
She leaves behind a devoted husband of 46 years, Michael Maykish; her five children, Ronnie, Lynn, Carol, Carrie and Barry; many grandchildren including, Lily Ann Lauren Daichman who always held a very special place in her heart. She will be dearly missed and will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, held at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10:00AM at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison.
