Obituary of Ronald T. Steinberg
Ronald Thomas Steinberg, 79, of Chatham Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2022.
Ronald was born on February 18, 1943 in Newark, NJ. Ron graduated from Union High School in 1961 and he went on to study Engineering at the University of Kentucky. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and started his career with his father at Prentco Company as a 2nd generation tool and die maker which served the aerospace and medical industry. He continued his work there for 50 years including his son Christopher. Ron loved his work and was proud to pass the successful business to his son.
Ron spent his free time enjoying his corvettes and his other sports cars, UK basketball, and music, especially The Beach Boys. He also enjoyed coaching his son and daughter in Chatham Twp soccer and basketball. He was very involved in the CTAA for several years. He also loved to play basketball at the YMCA in Madison and at the Chatham Township senior center.
Ron and Phyllis enjoyed raising their children and spending time sailing on the Toms River and Barnegat Bay. After retirement they traveled to the Grand Canyon, Italy, and trips to Florida. He was always there for his kids whether it was cutting down trees, helping with the house, or putting together a jungle gym. Ron and Phyllis loved working together building their home on Floral St. and maintaining the yard and beautiful gardens. Ron enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, and he loved them very much.
Ron lived with cancer for the last 4 years of his life. He battled the disease with bravery and strength. He lived each day with positivity and determination not to let the disease keep him from doing the things he loved.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis (Alise) Steinberg of Chatham Township, NJ; his daughter: Diane and husband Philip Chadderdon, of St. Johnsbury, VT; his son: Christopher and wife Jill Steinberg of Milford, NJ; Ronald is also survived by four grandchildren Molly Steinberg, Cara Steinberg, Julia Chadderdon, and Lucas Chadderdon.
Funeral services will be held privately at St. Vincent Cemetery, Madison, NJ
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Atlantic Health Hospice & Visiting Nurse.
