Obituary of Helen K. Dieckmann
Helen K. Dieckmann (née Heine), of Chatham (previously a long-time resident of Morris Plains), died peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 95.
Helen was born in New York City on February 19, 1927 to the late Walter and Martha Heine. She was raised in the Bronx with her sister, Eleanor.
Helen met her beloved husband, Karl W. Dieckmann, in New York City. The couple eventually settled in Morris Plains, where they raised their family and loved living for over 55 years.
Helen was an avid gardener and, for over 30 years, was an active member of the Morris Plains Garden Club often providing educational presentations at the Morris Plains schools and library. She also enjoyed her home at the Jersey Shore. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Helen is survived by her children Wayne Dieckmann and his wife, Becky, Karlene Mitchell, and Marlene Andresen and her husband, Paul; her beloved grandchildren, Danielle Guldner and her husband Kevin, Brian Dieckmann and his fiancée Evelyn Chiu, Devon Mitchell and his wife Caitlyn, Drew Mitchell and his wife Lauren, Kimberly Jeschke and her husband Chris, and Steven Andresen; and her great grandchildren Owen Mitchell and Quinn Mitchell.
She was predeceased by her husband, Karl W. Dieckmann in 2019 and her sister, Eleanor Durso.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial service for Helen held at the Presbyterian Church of Madison, 19 Green Ave, Madison at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 followed by refreshments & fellowship at the church.
