Obituary of Albert F. Wickens, Jr.
Albert Francis Wickens, longtime resident of Madison, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023 at the age of 94.
He is happily reunited with his loving wife Patricia who died a year and a half ago.
Al was always proud of his parents, Mary (Ma, Grandma) and Albert (Pop, Grandpa) who raised him and 7 siblings in Newark NJ during the depression. He often spoke glowingly of his 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by one sister, Jean Sexton from Westfield, NJ and nineteen nieces and nephews.
Al had a fulfilling career at the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company where he acted as the director of community relations. During this time he successfully worked with and supported a myriad of charitable organizations throughout the Newark area.
After his retirement he continued to provide leadership support to non-profit charitable organizations including one of his favorites, EPOCH of Madison, an after-school program for special needs children. He and Pat loved to travel and especially enjoyed their three-month stint in Florida every winter for over 30 years.
