I took care of Rachel for several years as her kidney nurse practitioner. Rachel had the courage of 10 packed into her petite body. I was honored to watch her grow, and endure, and persevere. She faced several challenges that no one should have to endure, while trying to grow from a young child into a beautiful young woman. If you think of some of the difficulties of the “teenage years “and superimpose some medical issues, you could see how extra challenging that could be. Well, Rachel endured through all that and more. I was also honored to be one of the people she trusted and confided in. I supported her as best I could and she and I had a deep connection. She was fiercely protective of her mother, animals, and everyone she loved. I had been in touch with her just after her mom passed. A little late, but I was sending her card about her mom a few months later. When I went to look up her address, I came to find that she had passed. I was shocked and devastated. Reading these, I see that she emulated the same strength, along with kindness, and humanity to so many others.
Rachel, you are sorely missed and forever cherished. I admired you and still do.
Fondly,
Nicole Diaz NP

Rachel had such a kind soul. We didn’t spend much time together but I’m the time that we did, we would laugh so hard. She had such a lovely presence. I’m glad I had a chance to meet her. May she Rest In Peace.

I only met Rachel a few times at her neighbor's house, but I remember her well because of her lively personality and always with a smile on her face. I remember her singing joyfully. She was special and will be missed. Her light, that shined so brightly in this world, will certainly be missed. Rest in peace Rachel, our prayers are with you, Laurie and Novena.

I am still so saddened by the loss of Rachel.
She was a very special woman who had a great smile and a laugh that filled the room.
Rachel was filled with love and joy for her family and for her furry, four-legged friends, too!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all

I was lucky enough to call Rachel my bestie. Although we sadly never met in person, she made her way firmly into my heart. I love you, Rachel, thank you for being the best friend anyone could ever ask for.

I love you Rachel and miss you. I will miss your tight hugs you always gave me when I would come over, and I will always remember how you came to my house one day with flowers you picked from the garden that you gave to me because I was sad. Miss listening to your laughing outside , being my neighbor and all. Rest sweet girl, rest and thank you for being in my life even for such a short time. love Helena
